Some of the themes where I will be putting in my 2 cents worth:

Canon vs Nikon – who cares, buy whichever one you want, they are both great. If you already have lenses for one or the other and want to continue using them then there are additional considerations.

Lens resolution – don’t obsess – these days they are all good and the resolution of the lens you are using has nothing to do with how good a photo you will end up taking.
